It was a little odd that the victim had wanted to meet with the person accused of assaulting him, but it wasn't entirely unknown, and the police were willing to accommodate the request. Frankly, they didn't even mind if it got loud; but they did make sure an officer was close enough to deter any thoughts of making threats or continuing a physical fight here.
